The Greek Catholic Church of St Paraskeva was built in 1705. Paraskeva was the daughter of wealthy Christian parents in Ikónia. After their death she inherited great wealth which she handed out to the poor. Because of her vows of chastity, she rejected all seeking her hand. During the persecution of Christians by Diocletian she was accused of Christianity and thrown into prison. After horrible torture she was beheaded with a sword.
